12.11.03 Reboot

As always, I seem to require a reboot. I have been resting on the laurels of my current success, so I'm going to acknowledge that success, give it a pat on the back, and then move forward. I have more ground to cover. I'm not where I want to be. I'm just at the beginning again. This isn't bad. It's what has to happen.

In the Navy, the SEAL teams refer to every distinct training event as an evolution. They see each mission in this light, and each segment of their training as a particular evolution. It helps them break down their world into manageable chunks. I like that mindset. I think I'll push that one on myself.

I am working on this reboot right now, but understand this: I am still moving forward.

12.10.03 Cruddy Day

Yesterday was a cruddy day. I was involved in a 2 hour commute. I got really lost on the way to my destination. I lost my cell phone. Talk about crud.

One thing I learned due to this, however, was that I am great at operating when things are going well, but I still crumble under personal pressure. I'm great under work-related pressure, but if something is a bug to me, it's a *huge* bug to me. I can't stand losing things. After losing my phone, I was fairly much shut down for the rest of the day. That's not acceptible. So, I'm going to keep working on training myself better for that.

Anyhow, I've got a few days until I'm on vacation. I'm looking forward to that.

12.03.03 Not That I'm Bitter

Two Goddamned hours commute today. Two. It's normally anywhere from 33 to 1 hour, but c'mon, people. No bad road conditions. Nothing. It was cold. And people were basically just reacting to yesterday's shit-ass traffic. After two hours yesterday, I just got off the highway, and drove back north to my home. Damn, I hate traffic.

I'm trying to learn more about the outdoors. I am going to start this winter by trying to take to the woods whenever it's opportune, and try to learn to track. This will hopefully lead to other outdoor forays. Basically, I'm going to do what Kat said and put my money where my mouth is.

Oh, and I'm starting to write again. This coming week.

By the way, the website will be dormant until the new year.
